Android manufacturers each name the same screens differently. The steps below use the stock Android wording, with the common Samsung variations in brackets.
Step by step
- Open Settings, then Network & internet [Samsung: Connections].
- Tap SIMs [Samsung: SIM manager].
- Tap Download a SIM instead, or the + next to eSIM [Samsung: Add eSIM].
- Tap Next, then scan the QR code from your order.
- If you cannot scan, choose Enter it manually or Enter activation code and type the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your order.
- Give the line a name you will recognise, then finish the setup.
When you arrive
- Enable the SAIMING eSIM in SIM manager.
- Set it as the line for mobile data.
- Turn on roaming for that line — on most Android phones this is a per-SIM switch, not a global one.
If you cannot find the option at all
No “download a SIM” option usually means the phone has no eSIM hardware, or the manufacturer removed it from your regional variant. The device compatibility page explains how to confirm.
