Choosing which line carries your data

With two lines active, the phone needs to be told which one to use for data. This is the single most common reason a working eSIM appears not to work.

After installing, your phone has two lines: your usual number and the SAIMING data line. Calls and texts should stay on your usual number. Data should move to SAIMING.

Set it

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Mobile Data → select the SAIMING line. Leave “Allow Cellular Data Switching” off, otherwise the phone may quietly fall back to your home SIM and bill you for roaming.
  • Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Mobile data → select the SAIMING line.

Keep your own number reachable

Leave your home line switched on for calls and SMS but turn its mobile data off. You will still receive calls and bank verification codes, without your home carrier charging you for data.

Our plans are data only

A SAIMING plan has no phone number attached. Calls and messages over apps such as WhatsApp work normally, because they travel over data.
