Networks and technical details
We publish what our supplier tells us and nothing more. Where a detail is not in our supplier’s data, we say so instead of guessing.
- Partner networks
- We do not publish a list of local operators. Your phone attaches to whichever partner network is available where you are, and the network name appears on your phone once the plan is active.
- Speed and fair use
- Not published We do not advertise a speed. Real-world speed depends on the local network, the mast you are on and how busy it is — no travel eSIM can promise a number.
- Activation
- Install the profile over Wi-Fi before you leave, then turn the line on when you land. The 365-day clock starts when we provision at purchase — not at install, and not at first connection — and there is no window you have to activate inside.
- APN settings
- The eSIM profile carries its own APN, so there is nothing to type in. If your phone asks you for an APN, message us before changing anything.
- Hotspot and tethering
- Not published
- Data only
- These plans carry mobile data and nothing else — no Barbados phone number, no voice minutes, no SMS. Calls over WhatsApp and similar apps work because they use data.
Our network supplier groups destinations into zones. Barbados sits in zone 35 (Eastern Caribbean & Belize). Any plan that reaches Barbados also reaches 5 other destinations in the same zone.
Will it work on your phone?
You need a phone that supports eSIM and is not locked to a home carrier. Most handsets sold in the last few years qualify, but locked phones will refuse the profile.
- Your existing SIM stays in the phone. Keep it on for calls and texts and set the SAIMING line as your mobile data line — that is the whole point of dual SIM.
- If you bought your phone on a carrier contract, ask them to confirm it is unlocked before you order.

Getting online in Barbados
Pick a plan that covers Barbados
Any plan in the selector above reaches Barbados. Match the footprint to your whole trip, not just the first stop.
Install over Wi-Fi before you fly
Scan the QR code from your phone’s settings. It takes about a minute and does not start your validity.
Turn the line on when you land
Enable the SAIMING line and data roaming. Your 365 days start here.
Use it, share it, top it up by buying again
Hotspot works, calls over apps work, and when the data runs out you simply buy another plan.
Why use an eSIM in Barbados?
Roaming on your home plan is billed by your own carrier at their rate, and buying a local SIM means finding a shop, showing ID and swapping the card that holds your number. An eSIM skips both: you buy it before you go, it installs over Wi-Fi in about a minute, and your usual number stays live for calls and texts.
Because our plans cover a whole footprint rather than one country, the same profile keeps working when you cross a border inside that footprint — no second purchase, no second install.
What coverage in Barbados really means
Barbados is inside carrier zone 35 in our supplier’s table, which is what actually decides whether a plan works there. 4 of our 20 plans include that zone, and we list every one of them above with its real destination count.
Our Global plan does include Barbados, along with 182 of the 192 destinations in our supplier’s table. The 10 it misses are listed on every Global plan.
How much data do you need in Barbados?
We will not pretend to know how you use your phone, so here is arithmetic instead of a guess. Every plan runs for 365 days, so spread evenly:
- 25 GB is about 70 MB a day for a full year
- 50 GB is about 140 MB a day for a full year
- 80 GB is about 224 MB a day for a full year
- 120 GB is about 337 MB a day for a full year
Almost nobody spreads it evenly. A two-week trip on the smallest plan leaves you roughly 1,829 MB a day for those days and the rest of the year in reserve — which is the point of a 365-day validity. If you tether a laptop or stream video, take a bigger size: the connection stops when the allowance is gone, it does not slow down and it does not bill you more.
Install before you leave for Barbados
The QR code arrives by email within minutes of checkout. Scan it while you still have Wi-Fi — installing an eSIM needs a working internet connection, which is exactly what you will not have at the airport in Barbados. Installing does not start your validity; only switching the line on does.
Sharing the connection in Barbados
Personal hotspot is supported, and anything you share comes out of the same allowance. It is the simplest way to get a laptop or a travel companion online without buying a second plan.
Practical notes for Barbados
- Turn on data roaming for the SAIMING line — the plan works over partner networks, so the phone treats it as roaming even though there is nothing extra to pay.
- Set the SAIMING line as your mobile data line and leave your home line on for calls, so you keep your number without using its data.
- If you land and see no service, restart the phone. If it still will not attach, select a network manually in your carrier settings instead of automatic.
- Travelling on from Barbados? Check whether your next stop is in the same plan before you buy — the destination list on each plan above is the real one.
Our recommendation for Barbados
For a trip that stays inside Global, the Global plan is the cheapest way to cover Barbados — it reaches 182 destinations for less per GB than the wider plans. Choose a wider footprint only if your trip leaves that list.
Questions about Barbados
4 of our plans cover Barbados: Global. They differ only in footprint and data size — all of them are valid for 365 days.
No. We do not sell single-country or pay-as-you-go plans at all. The regional and worldwide plans on this page each include Barbados, and they cost the same whether you visit one country in the footprint or all of them.
Yes. Our Global plan reaches 182 destinations, and Barbados is one of them.
When you switch the line on, not when you buy it and not when you install it. It then runs for 365 days. There is no activation window to worry about.
Yes, as long as your next stop is in the same plan. Barbados shares its carrier zone with 5 other destinations, and each plan above lists every destination it reaches.
No. These are data-only plans with no number attached, so there are no local calls or SMS. Your own number stays reachable on your existing SIM.
We do not publish a speed, because it is set by whichever local partner network your phone attaches to and how busy it is. What we can tell you is that there is no throttling step and no overage: the connection runs at network speed until the allowance is used up, then it stops.
There is no top-up bundle on sale today. If you run out, buy another plan — it installs the same way, and its validity starts as soon as we provision it at purchase.
